2 day Barefoot trimming & nutrition workshop

This workshop is mainly aimed at horse owners, but also yard owners, breeders, trainers, instructors, osteopaths, hoof professionals and veterinarians. The workshop is suitable for participants with little prior knowledge as well as for those who trim themselves. The workshop will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday the 25th, 26th, 27th of June 2021.Friday will be theory and day 2 ( Saturday or Sunday will be practice. 

Day 1 and 2 will be held in Athleague, Co Roscommon. 

The costs are 250,- in total for both days 

The aim of this theoretical workshop is to make horse owners better informed and look at their horse's hooves with different eyes. During the workshop there is room for questions, dialogue and exchange of experiences.

Morning program

1 – Introduction and Maria will discuss hoof health

Sharon from The Horse Therapist will discuss nutrition and how this can affect the hoof and overall health of the horse. 

Afternoon program:

Looking at the hooves of the horses in the yard

1 – Maria will be demonstration trimming to the internal structure of the hoof

During this day you will get a clear insight into what a hoof should look like and how it functions. This day will prepare you for the Practice workshop, which is held on the Sunday.

The workshop will last all day ( from 9.30am to about 4.30pm )

Maximum 8 to 10 participants.

To participate you will have to email me and I will put you on the attendants list. A 25 euro deposit is needed to secure your spot. The rest of the costs can be paid on the day itself. 

Please let me know in your email if you are attending day 2 as well. And if so also let me know if you prefer the Saturday or the Sunday. If 10 people join us on day 1 then we will divide the group into 5 on Saturday and 5 on Sunday. 

The second day will be held at Caggle stables in Strokestown. If you decide to bring your horse along then there will be stables and paddocks available for your horse. You can also bring your horse on Friday or Saturday if you are travelling from far and decide to stay in a B&B in the area.

This yard can provide hay or haylage and you can also go for a ride on their track. There will be a car park for the trailer, and your horse can stay in a stable or out in a paddock. Please contact me for more information about these costs.
